Jharkhand is an Indian state. Located in Eastern India it was created from the southern part of Bihar on November 15, 2000. The word “Jharkhand” means “The Land of Forests.” The state covers an area of 28,833 sq miles. Ranchi is the capital of Jharkhand. It is an industrial city.
