Southern Ontario, Canada, is bracing for a major storm that is expected to dump as much as a foot of snow beginning overnight Monday.
The snowfall will come as a massive low-pressure system moves over the Great Lakes.
Coupled with high winds the storm could produce white-out conditions.
The Canadian Automobile Association is recommending drivers check their vehicles to ensure good working order, and travel with a survival kit that includes blankets, food and candles.
The snow storm, which could be the biggest in two years, comes on the heels of a major winter chill which has kept the area in a deep freeze for the past several days.
